Fall 2011 - Blog #1
Reflection:
1. This week in Japanese class, we supposedly learned about passive sentences. I actually had to learn that on my own because I couldn't make it to class on Thursday. In class on Tuesday, I learned that another word for "せんもん” is "せんこう". Kinda neat.
2. The most fun thing in Japanese class this week was being reunited with some of my classmates. Some of these people I have seen almost every semester of my college career, and since I have to work with them in class, obviously play a role in my learning process.
3. My greatest success was probably on our first day of class, when I honestly had not reviewed all summer, and was still able to understand our teacher and the other students almost perfectly. It's a sign to me that the words and phrases have sort of hardwired into my brain.
4. My challenge this week was the actual physical condition of the classroom. I don't like how we have so many students crammed into such a small space.
5. What I WANT to do in order to overcome #4 is different from what I probably will do. I WANT to like... take my things and sit in the corner or on the floor or something, because I was really uncomfortable with the small amount of space I had. What will actually happen is, I will continue to sit and be uncomfortable and not say anything until I get used to it.
